Thermal Conduction and Thermal Instability in the Transition Layer between an Accretion Disc and a Corona in AGN

چکیده
We study the vertical structure of the transition layer between an accretion disc and corona in the context of the existence of two-phase medium in thermally unstable regions. The disc is illuminated by hard X-ray radiation and satisfies the condition of hydrostatic equilibrium. We take into account the energy exchange between hot corona (∼ 10 K) and cool disc (∼ 10 K) through the radiative processes and due to thermal conduction. We make local stability analysis of the case with conductivity and we conclude that thermal conduction does not suppress thermal instability. In spite of continuous temperature profile T (τ) there are regions with strong temperature gradient where spontaneous perturbations can lead to cloud condensation in the transition layer. We determine the minimum size λTC of such a perturbation.

The Role of Thermal Conduction in Accretion Disks with Outflows
In this work we solve the set of hydrodynamical equations for accretion disks in the spherical coordinates (r,θ,ϕ) to obtain the explicit structure along θ direction. We study a two-dimensional advective accretion disc in the presence of thermal conduction. We find self-similar solutions for an axisymmetric, rotating, steady, viscous-resistive disk. We show that the global structure of an advec...
متن کاملX-rays from Magnetic Flares in Cygnus X-1: the Role of a Transition Layer
The spectrum of Seyfert 1 Galaxies is very similar to that of several Galactic Black Hole Candidates (GBHCs) in their hard state, suggestive that both classes of objects have similar physical processes. While it appears that an accretion disk corona (ADC) model, where the corona sandwiches the cold accretion disk, is capable of explaining the observations of Seyfert galaxies, recent work has sh...

This paper deals with the theoretical investigation of the thermal instability of a thin layer of electrically conducting micropolar rotating fluid, heated from below in the presence of uniform vertical magnetic field in porous medium. A dispersion relation is obtained for a flat fluid layer, contained between two free boundaries using a linear stability analysis theory, and normal mode analysi...
متن کاملAn accretion disc-corona model for X-ray spectra of active galactic nuclei
The hard X-ray emission of active galactic nuclei (AGN) is believed to originate from the hot coronae above the cold accretion discs. The hard X-ray spectral index is found to be correlated with the Eddington ratio Lbol/LEdd, and the hard X-ray bolometric correction factor Lbol/LX,2−10keV increases with the Eddington ratio. The Compton reflection is also found to be correlated with the hard X-r...
متن کاملTime-dependent models of two-phase accretion discs around black holes
We present time-dependent simulations of a two-phase accretion flow around a black hole. The accretion flow initially is composed of an optically thick and cool disc close to the midplane, while on top and below the disc there is a hot and optically thin corona. We consider several interaction mechanisms as heating of the disc by the corona and Compton cooling of the corona by the soft photons ...
